Shannon Lloyd
Interim Executive Director
Born in a small-town southeast of Edmonton, Shannon is a true-blue Alberta girl! She has lived in many other places, but her heart and soul belong in Alberta. She can never seem to stay away from this glorious sunny province for long. Her early career started out in disability services, where she garnered many skills and trainings. From there she got her toes wet working in the Oilsands with a service company. It was at this point Shannon decided it was time to go back to school.
After college, she began working for the local Municipal Government. In this position she ascertained many Emergency Management trainings and Emergency Social Services trainings. Like many others in the community, Shannon and her family made the choice to relocate to Fort McMurray because of work. It was here that she returned to work in the oilsands as a project coordinator / interim project manager. It did not take her long to realize that she missed working with and helping people. This realization led her to the MCA, where she could not be happier within the organization!
Aysha Kadour
Welcome Centre Coordinator
Aysha is the Welcome Centre Coordinator, in charge of connecting newcomers and local members of the community to various resources in town. Her background in Sociology and Anthropology has provided her with the theories and knowledge of understanding how various societies deal with diversity and incorporate cross-cultural changes.
Aysha’s area of specialization has provided her with the ability to bridge theory with practice by being sensitive and considerate of a client’s cultural background and other identities that they might subscribe to in the interest of being able to cater to their needs and match them with a service that is best suited towards the individual. For anyone who is curious or interested in learning more about the Welcome Centre, please free to send us an e-mail or give us a call!

She recently moved to Fort McMurray after completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Calgary, where she majored in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Sociology. Her background in these subjects provides her an extensive framework in understanding diversity and systemic social inequality, which can be applied to her role at the MCAWB.
In her free time, Taylor enjoys baking, listening to podcasts, and going to the gym, as well as spending time with her family and cat named Ritzy.
